6 Tips To Care For Your Car Glasses (Windscreens And Windows)

Car windows need care, as much as other parts of a car. However, caring for them is delicate because they are fragile and can harbor germs. Moreover, it is easy to have scratches and cracks on glasses; hence, getting the perfect cleaning equipment and technique for your car might be a bother. It is interesting, though. Here are things you can do to care for your car windows

Use Hydrophobic coating for your glass:

Water repellent spray (also known as a hydrophobic coating) is a form of protection for windscreens and windows. It covers the direct surface of the glass, hence preventing stains from fluid substances and water wetting, which can blur visions when driving. Also, it eases the cleaning of dirt and surface and does not affect glass transparency.

Wash regularly:

Accumulated layers of dirt on glass can blur visions without even seeming so. Also, dirt on glass surfaces harbors harmful germs. Hence, regular washing with a glass cleaner, water, and foam is advisable. You can also get products that allow you to scrape specks of dirt off the glass without marks or damages.

Avoid parking under the sun:

Exposing your glass to extreme temperatures, especially, the ultraviolet rays from the sun will weaken it. It would shorten your windshield’s life and make it easier to crack naturally or by small chips. Park under sheds, or cover up your car when done.

Fix stone chips immediately:

When cleaning your vehicle, you should pay attention to tiny crack(s) on the window. A crack is usually caused by stones or any small, hard object hitting your glass; it can happen on motion or while your vehicle is static. The earlier you fix the crack, the better it is. An unaddressed fault on your windscreen or window would get bigger as your car experiences more vibration.

Pay attention to your wipers:

Wipers are supposed to have impressive rubber fibers at their tip to clean off dirt or liquid from your screen. Sometimes, those rubbers get weak and need replacement. In fact, some foreign hard particles can settle along the wipers’ blades and could be dragged along the screen, once the wiper is started. In fact, the metal strips that hold the rubbers could also mark your screen, if faulty. So, pay attention to your wiper blades and replace them after some months.

Gently shut your doors and boots:

A bang on your car would cause it to vibrate, and your windows can get weakened with time. Consistent car banging will cause chips and cracks.
